April 2025: Aliyah
“I enjoyed making this art piece since it was my first time ever working on a big, scaled canvas which I always wanted to work on as well as creating realistic tones. I find photographic realism very interesting and fun to work on since it takes a lot of attention, little details and mainly texture which is very hard to do. This helped me practice for harder work that may come up in the future. This art piece took me nearly a month to finish up and, in that month, I worked very hard to get it to look like my reference however I failed multiple times, but I kept on painting and fixing my mistakes as I went on which then eventually led to my final piece where I had finished my art piece.
What I learnt from my experience of painting on a big scale is that it takes patience and dedication if you want to achieve in finishing your painting, I learnt different techniques such as how to arrange the lighting or shadows on certain areas as well as blending with acrylic where it dries rapidly so I needed to work at the fast pace in certain areas too, but mainly I learnt from my mistakes and my wrongs which helped me while creating this art piece and will also help me a lot in future paintings that I do.”
