Back to newsGrowing Minds and Green Thumbs: The GCA Botanicals Blooming with New Seeds!
18th Feb 2025Following up on our previous update about the amazing benefits of plants in the classroom, we're thrilled to share the next step in our botanical adventure here at GCA!
We've now planted a colourful array of seeds, including radishes, Pak Choi, chillies, peppers, lettuce, and more. These little green wonders are already settled comfortably in their heated propagators, getting ready to sprout and bring even more life into our classroom. The excitement is palpable as our students eagerly await the first signs of growth!
A massive shout-out goes to Ms Durham-Springer for all her invaluable help, guidance, and support in getting this green project off the ground. With her expert knowledge, the students are not just learning about plants—they're becoming plant caretakers, getting hands-on experience, and gaining an appreciation for how nature thrives.
As we nurture these seeds to life, we’re also cultivating a deeper connection with the environment, fostering responsibility, and inspiring creativity among our students. Stay tuned for more updates as we watch our classroom garden grow, one leaf at a time!
