World class roboteers

11th May 2023

All our teams were phenomenal this season winning 23 trophies in tournaments. The level at which they all work is world class!

Our lower school teams ended their world championship run ranked in the top 8% in the world, with 790 teams competing.

The Y8 team - Noah, Laura and Jessica - reached the worlds through sheer hard work and a commitment to excellence. They won the Judges Award at the Nationals and Excellence Awards in their earlier tournaments.

The Y7 team, Nicholson and Lucas, have only been competing since December. They came in 8th at Nationals after winning a string of tournaments this year. Despite their lack of experience, the boys worked incredibly hard and practised every day, building an outstanding robot, programming and learning real engineering skills as they went along.

The Year 11 team - Darius, Emmanuel, Vincent and Lekai - ended their championship run ranked in the top 4%, with 811 teams competing. They were the second highest ranked team from the UK and the highest ranking state school. The boys worked for nearly a year developing, testing and building an outstanding robot, learning real engineering skills, completely computer modelling the robot and fabricating custom parts, in Delrin.

In Dallas, they all competed against vastly more experienced teams and the standard of competition at worlds this year were really high.

Hearty congratulations to all of you and to Mr Knappert.
