Back to newsSeun all set for a transatlantic race
14th Oct 2019GCA alumnus, Seun, sailed in the Round the Island race earlier this year in a boat he and our sailing captain, Azat, had restored themselves.
World-class sailor Ross Appleby was so impressed that he is given Seun the opportunity to crew in a transatlantic race.
Seun will sail on a yacht called Scarlett Oyster alongside a professional crew. From Lymington, they go to Saint-Malo, across the bay of Biscay to Cascais in Portugal then on to Las Palmas in the Canaries.
On 22nd November, he will race across the Atlantic Ocean to St Lucia – a voyage that will take about 18 days.
We are looking forward to the regular video messages he has promised to send us.
You can track the voyage here:
Good luck, Seun.
