Last Thursday I had the pleasure of taking 20-odd Year 9s to the Cleary Gottlieb law firm in the Barbican. Cleary Gottlieb sponsor the 'ASPIRE' Oracy programme run by the National Literacy Trust which, because of Hannah's prior work there, invited us to take part.
The organisers last week praised the students' impeccable behaviour, engagement and positive attitude. Further to the mentoring day, the students have been taking part in a series of Oracy workshops at school, culminating in today's presentation to representatives from the NLT and Cleary Gottlieb. We had five groups and each one delivered an excellent performance based on a 'Social Action' project of their choice.
I was incredibly proud of their topic choices, collaboration and, most of all, the Oracy skills they brought to the stage.
