A fantastic Plant Cell Model Cake made by our very talented Y7 STEM Class student Daniel

A fluffy delicious Victoria sponge, with chocolate filling and all the scientific information in the form of sweets and chocolate toppings.

The cell structures shown are:

The Nucleus in Maltesers which stores the genetic material.

The cell membrane which controls what enters and leaves the cell.

The cell wall which gives strength and support to the cell.

Chloroplasts where the worlds most important chemical reaction, photosynthesis, takes place. It turns carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen.

Vacuole where the plant cell stores cell sap.

Cytoplasm is the white frosting, which fills the inside of the cell and were chemical reactions happen.

Mitochondria where the worlds second most important checmical reaction, respiration, happens. There, the glucose and oxygen react to form carbon dioxide, oxygen and APT (energy).
