Excited to share an update on our bees and honey extraction!

17th Oct 2024

On Thursday, our Year 7 students carefully removed the honeycomb from the frames and placed it in a colander lined with a net, allowing the honey to strain overnight.

On Friday, the students returned to the kitchen to package the honey that had been extracted. They discovered that there was still a significant amount of honey remaining in the honeycomb, so they used wooden spatulas to break it down further. To ensure we capture every drop, they decided to leave it to strain over the weekend.

We still have more frames to extract soon, and we can't wait to see how much honey we will gather next!

A special thanks to our Year 7s and Ms Karsan for all their hard work.
