Drama students head to the West End to watch Sister Act

9th Jul 2024

A joyous, all singing, praising and dancing rendition of the original 90s film Sister Act!

In the spirit of: "ask and you shall receive", at the end of the show, when Hadi complimented & encouraged the lead drummer who was still in the orchestra pit at the time, Hadi then asked the drummer if he could have his drumsticks. The drummer replied that he could and gladly handed over his faithful 10-year-old pair of sticks and even volunteered another pair to Helen!

Here is a short review written by Malica (Year 11), who assisted us on the trip:

“Sister Act was a phenomenal show, pulsating with high energy, dizzying disco lights and glamorous sequin-embellished stage outfits - a feast, not only for the ears but also for the eyes! A standout scene for me throughout the musical had to have been when Beverly Knight’s character, Deloris, began to teach the nuns how to sing. This scene was filled with layers and gradually became more and more vibrant, not only through the change in lights, but also the progression of their harmonious vocals. This scene was full of character, allowing each nun to show their rich traits as well as their individual fabulous voices! This musical was truly exceptional and often left me speechless, especially with the insane notes that actors of all genders successfully hit.”
