At the end of June, our team of Kai, Jessye, Jaydon, Corneille and Felipe took part in the Round the Island Race on their small yacht - Cote - and won 4 trophies:

1. Winning U25 Young Skipper (Kai is 17!)
2. 1^st School (beating the other 2 schools which were fee paying ones)
3. 1^st In their Class
4. Youth Team 1^st Place

The conditions were VERY challenging and dangerous at times. 3 times they broached (where their boat is thrown onto its side and won't right itself). The waves on the South Side of the Isle of Wight- in the English Channel were massive. Maydays were being broadcast from other boats all day, life boats and helicopters being sent out to rescue other people in distress.

But out of 1200 boats, our team came 28^th overall and won those 4 trophies.

Special mention also to the Scaramouche crew - Samiya helmed most of the way. They played it safe (as they should do) and got around in a very respectable time.
