8th Oct 2022Students were delighted to welcome two guest speakers taking part in the BBC Share Your Story interactive assemblies, which mark its centenary this year.
Tadhg Kwasi, a researcher, talked about dyslexia and how this learning difficulty impacted on his life, his academic life and his choice of a discipline that he didn’t really enjoy but which he chose to prove to people he was not stupid.
Jacqueline Shepherd, a radio presenter, told us how the loss of her mother at the age of 10 impacted on her life. She spoke about her reaction when her dad announced it, how she behaved throughout her adolescence until now. She said she masked her sadness until she started talking about it with a friend on the phone and the stressed the importance of sharing your story.
