Huge congratulations to the GCA Girl`s Sailing team, who took Line Honours and were First in Class sailing Scaramouche at the Island Sailing Club, "Nab Tower Race" on Saturday 3rd September.

The race sees competitors race from Cowes, eastwards down the Solent to the Nab Tower, off the eastern tip of the Isle of Wight. Upon rounding the tower, the course then heads westwards, with a Cowes finish.

Our crew completed the tough 36 mile course in just 4 hours and 27minutes to be first across the winning line leaving all other boats well behind. The winning crew comprised: Dani, Lyonelle, Shantavia, Latoya, Natalia, Eden and Samiya. Well done to them and to Ms Saunders of course!

Two other GCA teams competed in the event. Riot was sailed by our Year 10 team, and Javelin by students from Years 12/13. Both teams successfully completed the course. All participants were a credit to GCA.

The bumper weekend of sailing also included an elite GCA sailing crew competing in the Etchells European Championship alongside boats from all over the world. This is in preparation for the Etchells World Championships which take place in 2 weeks time!
